Mac Download and Installation FAQ
Q: How do I know if my Avid system is compatible with the plug-ins?
A: Most Avid AVX systems are compatible. (SpeedRamP requires Avid software from 2001 or later.) See our System Requirements. Even if not compatible, installation will cause no harm to a system.
Q: My Mac has no connection to the internet. Can I download the Mac version to a Windows PC?
A: Yes! Do not unstuff on Windows. Move the downloaded file (it has a name ending with ".bin") to your Mac Avid system's hard disk by removable disk or network connection, and unstuff it there.
Q: I have several existing AVX_Plug-Ins folders. Which one is the right one?
Choose the AVX Plug-Ins folder which is contained within the Avid application's folder. For example, on Xpress DV systems it is usually Macintosh HD:Applications:Avid Xpress DV:Supporting Files:AVX_Plug-ins. (On older Avid systems there may be other AVX_Plug-ins folders created by Avid but they are not used.)
Q: I want to reinstall some 3Prong AVX Plug-Ins which were deleted.
Q: I want to update the plug-ins.A: Go ahead and replace any existing files. Existing Unlocking Codes will usually remain valid.
Q: I had a 3Prong license under OS 8/9, but upgraded my Avid system to OS X.
After installing the appropriate OS X version, try to re-enter your old Unlocking Codes. If they no longer unlock the plug-ins, you need a license update. Send your old license information and your new Ordering Code to codes@3Prong.com and we will send you updated Unlocking Codes. (back)
